BIO

I am a community pedagogue (MA), peace educator, and dedicated contact improvisation practitioner. Since 2001, I have been exploring contact improvisation within the vibrant Helsinki CI community and at numerous international festivals. For me, an alive connection to oneself and others is at the heart of dance — it’s a constant source of joy and discovery.

My background in drama pedagogy, non-violent communication, and peace education shapes my multifaceted approach to teaching. I have also studied integral psychology and holistic therapies, deepening my understanding of human connection and well-being.

For the past 15 years I have worked as a peace educator and expert at the Peace Union of Finland (NGO), where I continue to explore ways to foster empathy, dialogue, systemic change and transformative learning.

Trio exploration (with Terhi, 2 classes)

Dancing in trios can feel challenging both technically and psychologically, but it can also offer a sense of safety, space, and ease. Trios can allow for more openness in jams by breaking the traditional duo format. In these classes, we will explore ways to enter into a dance, and keep a trio ongoing and flowing. We’ll also discuss potential obstacles that might prevent us from dancing in a trio and work on technical aspects that support trio dancing.

In the first class, we’ll focus on technique and skills, while the second class will allow more time for personal exploration and reflection.
